Receiving Abundance

I knew a guy who desperately wanted abundance. It was on his breath all the time. It was one of the only things he thought about all day long, every day.

For every job he took, every class he attended, and every action he made in life, it always included wanting abundance. He wanted it more than he wanted air to breathe.

The irony was, he often got it. But he never realized it.

This guy came from a hard background. He grew up struggling financially and had traumatic situations throughout his life. But he ended up going to one of the best colleges in the country, achieving an amazing degree, going on spectacular adventures, and learning skills that most people will never experience.

And yet, he felt empty, undeserving, worthless, lost, and (worst of all) in a constant state of wanting.

How could this be? This guy somehow felt he had nothing.

Sometimes amazing things would happen to him. He was given a luxury car. He met the girl of his dreams. He frequently had wonderful, divine opportunities fall into his lap.

For many of these, he turned his back on them, left them, or (in terms of the car) became attached and let it define him.

Why is this?

He didn’t know abundance when he saw it.

This is a real challenge that has puzzled humanity throughout the ages. How do you define abundance? Sure, we can all imagine winning the lottery. But how likely is it that abundance shows up in one fell swoop, in one day, and in one action?

Abundance, like joy, love, and enlightenment, is a journey. It happens when you open your hands to receive and you allow yourself to be guided.

Abundance is sometimes the small things that end up being the bigger things.

What God (Source, Spirit, Universal Energy, however you define) is showing me right now is dozens of presents. Some of them are big. Some of them are small. Some of them very tiny. All of them are gifts of abundance. As you open each one, one at time, and allow yourself to receive it, you must also cherish, nourish, nurture, and remember it. Above all, you must recognize and be grateful for it. This allows you to open the next one and see the steps of glory, success, and blessings along the way.

If you choose only to look at each one individually, you would have the perspective of “Oh. Ok. That’s nice,” and set it aside. But if you joyfully and thankfully open each gift and see the patterns and the path that God is blissfully laying out for you, you’ll find abundance in your life.

Each gift opens your heart further and your mind bigger. And one day, you’ll wake up and see the glorious gifts that surround you. One day, you’ll say to yourself, “Wow. If I hadn’t gone to get my car fixed that day, I never would have met ______,” or “I’m so glad I accepted that project because it allowed me to develop this skill,” or “Wow I’m so glad I took a chance and went out with my friends that night.”

Many people feel they NEED more in order to BE more. But what you are is already perfection, and all you need to do is open your heart to receive and watch for God’s guidance in your life.

How has abundance shown up in your life? How have you perceived it? How have you received it? Did you know it was even there?

If you need help receiving abundance or finding your path, Reiki and energy healings can help. Discover the joy, love, and strength hidden deep inside you and welcome them into your daily life. You’re already perfect. You just need to know it yourself.
