I was walking my dog and I found this beautiful rock in the shape of a heart. I took a photo of it and then went on my way. I left the rock there, thinking it’s very cool but probably meant for someone else.
Later, I regretted leaving it. And when I went back that evening to find it, it took me awhile to locate it, even though I had an exact photo of where it was.
This is because when I returned, I was coming from a different angle. The heart didn’t look the same to me this time. In fact, it looked like a regular rock when you faced it the other way. But it was a rock of love, and once I found it, I could see it’s beauty again.
Have you ever passed up a chance on love? Did you return and find it looked different from before?
I’ve never passed up on love. I’ve loved deeply and fully, and had my heart broken more than enough.
But I do recognize this experience in friendships. There have been times in my life when beautiful friends have drifted out and then back in again. I’ve done this, too. Sometimes our paths take us on a different route, further out or further away. And many times, it curves us back to realign us again with those amazing Souls.
For all of the amazing friends in my past, present, and future, thank you and I love you.
